Project 3: Animation Action Sequence

I have make the storyboard according to Snowflake’s personality, since she is a naive, bumbling and curious person, the story will be about she is chasing a big butterfly but eventually falls because tripped by a stone.

Since I am more familiar and get used to draw in Procreate, I done each frame of my drawings in Procreate and only compile it in Adobe Animate.

For the jumping scenes, I have done it separately which I coloured the whole drawing first only then I combined it with the mushrooms at the backgrounds so it will be easier for me to move the mushrooms.

As I will need a rough draft of the action first before I started to draw the tie down, I have done the sketch in Adobe Animate first then only redraw and coloured it in Procreate.

Other than that, I decided to go for slow motion in the last few scenes and I have applied what Mr Kamal suggested which is classic tween. I have make the feeling of slow motion by extending the frame while decreasing the opacity and connecting to the next frame at the same time. I have applied this technique to both the catching scene and falling scene.

Apart from that, same goes to the moving background while the butterfly is flying, I have make it move smoothly from right to left using classic tween.

Feedback

Mr Kamal has given me some feedbacks when I showed him my storyboard, he suggested to make the last few scene before the final scene slow motion which is the same with my idea. Other than that, I have asked Mr Kamal how to make the scene moving smoothly withou moving frame by frame and he has introduced me Tweening which I did applied in the end!

Reflection

This final project is really challenging for me, as it does not have any shortcuts, you can only do it by drawing each frame that is needed which is really time consuming, especially it is on year end and I am not that free because of Christmas! Once U was worried that I could not finished this project on time but luckily I did it!

This assignment is not hard, is just that it need a lot of effort, time and patience then only you can produce a good work. I learnt a lot from this project as well, and I have trained my drawing skills at the same time because I have been a long time didn’t draw already.
