Week 2
On week 2, Mr Fauzi has told us that there is a The Show Graduate
Showcase that everyone was invited. As this is a very good experience for
us to know and learn from our seniors' work, I go with my friend and
classmate, Kar Yee! As I was not free on Saturday, I only visit Sunday's
showcase so I have missed the fashion show :'(
There are some boards there that showcasing the seniors' works from
different courses in The Design School. There are most exmples from
Creative Media which I really gained and learned a lot from it. All the
works are really impressive and I can tell that how many efforts they have
put in it. Here are the seniors' works from Creative Media which is my
course!

For Spatial Design, when I looked at it I was wondering how they did
all those things as now I only have very very basic knowledge about 3D
Modeling so I wonder how many months only can make me as pro as them
:D But my friend in Spatial Design said it was very easy only, I don't
believe it :)

Although I miss the fashion show yesterday but there are still some
of the outcomes from Fashion Design. To be honest, when I was in
secondary school I actually think of studying fashion design but I am
literally bad at tailoring so I gave up.
As when the time I arrived is 3:30pm, I thought the mural competition
is for me to see the work of the competition but no, we can join the
competition instead! My friend asked me if I want to join together or
not, it was soooooo sudden but since we are here, why not! I did not
bring anything, I only bring myself to the venue and without the
brain. I was totally blur that time and we actually join a group last
minute, discuss the idea and sketch last minute, draw and colour on
the spot. And that time Ithe thing in my mind was "JUST DO IT! EVEN IF
YOU CAN'T GET THE PRIZE, because it is for experience!" We did help
each other on the drawing, by the way the topic is "Unity to
diversity. diversity to unity".

The judges are evaluating the drawings while all the students are
so nervous and stand aside hahahaha. By the way one of the judges is
Mr Luqman! He is my tutor for DRM last semester and he was so
nice!

GUESS WHAT?!!!!! It was really unexpected and I was so blurred at
that time. We won 3rd prize!!!!!!!!! OMG at that time actually I
can't believe it because I think there are a lot of better drawings
from other groups, but may be our concept fit the theme hehe. I was
so happy and glad that I came and joined the competition!

Week 6
INSTRUCTION:
1. Follow instructions on the Tutorial demo during online
class.
2. Create your own composition based on the requirements
below:
3. Download all of the design elements from this link:
- Create 1080 x 1920 size poster (I.G Stories size) on Photoshop
- Trace and crop the images using the Pen tool.
- Create 1 composition and attach below (I.G poster)
- Animate the composition for 5-16 second loop with sound (I.G video story)
Firstly, before I imported the composition to After Effects to
animate it, I have done a composition in Adobe Photoshop using the
images provided which I have cut and scale them accordingly.

Fig 3.12 Progression #1, Week 6 (30/10/24)
Also, I have added the some texts to match with the graphics and
I have placed them at the front and the back to create
depth.

Final Outcome for Week 5 Practical:
Project 1: Technical and Motion Graphics
Sensibilities
Part 1
We are instructed to redesign 4 parts of pre-composition which are symmetry, focus, scale and rhythm. I already have a rough idea inspired by the example, I also used a square for symmetry, but I keep having the outer square and inner square changing the direction to make it unique.
Fig 4.1 Progression on Symmetry, Week 2 (6/10/24)
For the focus, I think by increasing the line on the outer cirle and incresing the number of inner circles could enhance "focus" more, and also I have increased the speed of rotating which make it more outstanding.
Fig 4.2 Progression on Focus, Week 2 (6/10/24)
For scale, I wanted to do square shape like the example but I would like to make some changes on it, therefore I think about triangle. I combined them together while one of them enlarge, others while shrink down.
Fig 4.3 Progression on Scale, Week 2 (6/10/24)
It is the smae for rhythm, I improved it based on the example, as the example only have two blocks moving at the side, I make them move around the balls instead of the side only.
Fig 4.4 Progression on Rhythm, Week 2 (6/10/24)
Final Outcome for Project 1 Part 1:

Part 2
I do not have a clear idea of how to combine all different parts of pre-composition, but I just followed my feeling and refer to the examples shown by Mr Fauzi. I would like to get more feedback from Mr Fauzi during the class so that I could know where is my problem.

Fig 4.9 Progression of Part 2 #4, Week 4 (14/10/24)
Fig 4.10 First draft of part 2, Week 4 (14/10/24)
After receiving feedbacks that saying that I could make the composition more simple so that the audience could understand where they should focus at the first sight, and make sure there is scale in the composition that show the depth of the composition.
Fig 4.11 Second draft of part 2, Week 5 (22/10/24)
For the final outcome, I only did some minor changes that are mentioned by Mr Fauzi and added the music then that is all done.

Feedback
Week 3: For part 1, Mr Fauzi said I was doing great just that the
colour of black need to be changed to match the background colour.
Week 4: I have shown Mr Fauzi my first progress of part 2 this week, and he said
that I could make it not that complex, more simple and make the transition
smoother.
Week 5: This week I have shown the improved version, Mr Fauzi said overall was
okay, but I can focus on more detail like when I stopped on certain frame,
make sure the composition is good. Also, I have to make sure every
transition is neat and need to add the audio to the video.
Week 6: Mr Fauzi has seen my last version of part 2 and he said
well done! Yay!!
Reflection
For the first project I get to know about the basic of Motion Graphics and Compositions, and I think that I am still able to handle it because I have used After Effects for the previous module. Therefore, I have some prior experiences and it would not so hard for me to conduct. It just that I need to learn more about the composition part as I think I am not good enough to have a good composition sense.
I am excited to face the next few assignments as I will be able to learn more about After Effects' tecnique!
